After a long, wet but warm winter we are, at last, back on the fields planting the new season's crops. We managed some very late (too late?) garlic last week and some equally late shallots on Monday 26 March. Early potatoes and broad beans also went in last week. Onions have been started today - these, at least, are in good time.
Seeding has started in earnest in the polytunnels and empty trays are being filled with compost and tiny seeds dropped in to wait for the miracle that hoepfully results in the food on your plate!
